About Dr. Kim
Dr Kim has performed over 3000 weight loss surgeries, including gastric bypass, lap band, and gastric sleeve surgeries. He also performs revision surgery. This is a more complex type of operation in which a person has had previous weight loss surgery and has not been successful or has suffered a complication. These patients are often referred to Dr Kim from outside practices to convert their unsuccessful operation into a different more successful one.

David D. Kim, MD
Dr. David D. Kim believes bariatric surgery can help morbidly obese people completely turn their lives around for the better. That’s why he has devoted his practice and his career to helping people safely and effectively lose large amounts of weight and reduce the risk of developing life-threatening conditions brought on by morbid obesity. Dr. Kim has performed thousands of surgical weight loss procedures and has made a name for himself across the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. Dr. Kim established the bariatric surgery program at North Hills Hospital in 2003, and was later appointed as its director. He also played a significant role in the development of Bariatric surgery programs in North Texas, and holds privileges at respected hospitals and medical institutions across the DFW region.
Dr. Kim has earned many awards and recognitions throughout his career. In addition to his commendations from the American Society of Bariatric Surgery, Dr Kim has been named Fort Worth Magazine’s “Top Doc” – an honor voted on by his medical peers – and North Hills Hospital’s 2006 Physician of the Year. He has also been chosen nationally as “Top Doc” in bariatric surgery in a nationwide survey conducted amongst his peers (Castle and Connelly).
